It would be nice when advisors are writing tickets to have a Gross Profit per hour in the info button by the total per job and also in the totals included authorized service in the bottom right by the payment button. I am trying to focus my advisors on Gross Profit dollars$$ per hour to make the most profitable tickets. letting us price more aggressively on larger low hour tickets and move more but maintain profitability. Also to have them better mark up lower hour jobs that may not have part dollar sales to make our target Gross Profit per hour. I know the system does generate a number in end of day but would really speed things up and hone advisors to get the Gross profit dollars up.
I agree, realtime KPI’s baked into the Ui when creating estimates would be great.
GP/hr is huge, did you calculate what your minimum acceptable GP/hr is? Ours is 145 currently.
I’m at the ATI conference and they were just talking about this in one of their sessions.
I left ATI as a coach they are behind the curve. I was not happy with my coach and started interviewing other coaches. Only to find people who were managers or never ran that successful of a shop so they left for coaching. 2 years ago when I brought this topic up with my coach they looked at me through zoom like I had 3 heads. I find they are talking heads not true coaches who are in the fight with you.
My Target is 210 per hour. This is more important that GP% because it actually measures the Gross Profit $$$ your team is producing. My goal is to see our gross profit at $210 per hour. It does not matter if gross sales are $220 or $1,000 as long as the gross profit number is correct. Although is does not show your productivity it give you a sight in on your advisors skill at estimating and the technicians skills at good inspection resulting in great estimates. So the most important part of what is your number, is knowing how many gross profit dollars you truly need a week. Lets be honest gross sales mean nothing to us as owners the true number is NET or Gross profit!!!
Simple math fixed ops cost 5000. Sales cost 1000. and I want 5000 in net. In a 2 tech 1 advisors shop I would need to see them 11,000 in gross profit. If they were able to produce at 90% productivity they would produce 72 hours putting my min. goal at 152.78. Know your number and they will get you what you want.
